The total time for student to complate the English Paper in examination is 3 hours. There are three sections in JKBOSE Class 10th English which discussed as Below:
Reading Section carries 15 marks in your examination. In this section there will be asked a poem of 5 marks includes questions and maching words. There will also one seen and one unseen passage from your prescribed textbook and each carries 5 marks in which you have been asked objective type from the passage. These will be a comprehension questions, one word substitution, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms and inference. So from this section there will 15 marks for your examination.
In the Grammar Portion there is also a 15 marks in the JKBOSE Class 10th English Syllabus. From this section 10 marks includes Modals, Articles, Relative Clauses, Narration and for other 5 marks . One contextualized passage or story or paragraph to be edited testing the use of tenses, punctuation, articles and different parts of speech etc.
The writing section is important section in JKBOSE Class 10th English that carries 30 marks includes one Diologue which you have to complate with the help of hints. One Notice Writing and one Massage Writing are to be asked of combined 7 marks. Also one formal or informal letter to be asked in your examination.
Literature Section carries highest marks of 30 in JKBOSE Class 10th English. In this section, there is only Questions of different categories. There is total Nine questio asked in this section and each carries different marks. These questions may be asked in Proose, Poetry, Play or in Short Stories sections.
