The Jammu and Kashmir state Board of School Education JKBOSE Class 12th English curriculum aims to improve students’ communicative competence in English by strengthening their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The objective of this course is to equip the learners with proper English language skills that will enable them to succeed in their academics or careers.
JKBOSE consists of prose, poetry, and dramatic literature. Students have opportunities to read the works of both Indian and international writers, and this enhances their ability to understand different traditions as well as their critical appraisal skills.
JKBOSE places importance on reading skills, especially the ability to comprehend and infer from texts. This section plays a role in honing students’ skills to read, to gather information, and to make assumptions based on the information read in academic and workplace environments.
