Compound contains two or more different elements and these elements cannot be broken down into simpler substances. They are formed through the combination of two or more elements in a certain ratio known as compound ratio. A compound is an intimate blend of two or more substances in which each substance preserves its own characteristics and can be separated mechanically.
The periodic table is an arrangement of elements in the form of a table grouped according to atomic number, electron arrangement, and chemically similar elements with similar properties. They are arranged in a tabular form, with the elements grouped in vertical columns called groups or families based on similarities and in horizontal rows called periods based on the energy levels.
Acids are compounds that dissociate in water to release hydrogen ions (H⁺) while bases dissociate in water to release hydroxide ions (OH⁻). Acids have sour taste and can erode metals while bases have a soapy feel and bitter taste.
