Newton’s First Law of Motion states that an object in a state of nature remains in that condition of rest or uniform straightline motion unless disturbed by some external force. This is also referred to as the law of inertia, which simply means that objects also have a natural tendency to maintain their present state.

Mass is the amount of matter in an object and is expressed in units known as kilogrammes. Weight, on the other hand, is the force of gravity acting on the mass of an object, and it is expressed in Newton. Mass can never change, while weight is variable depending on the strength of the gravitational force.

According to the law of conservation of energy, energy by itself can neither be created nor destroyed; it merely changes from one form to another. Conserving energy in a closed system: The law of conservation of energy states that in any given system, the total mechanical energy remains constant. This implies that the conservation of the total energy, which includes both the potential and kinetic energy of an object in a closed system, will always be constant.

The principle of moments can be summarised as follows: for a system to be in equilibrium, the sum of moments taken in one direction around the chosen pivot equals the sum of the moments taken in the opposite direction. This means that the vector sum of all torque—the force that causes rotation—in one direction must be exactly cancelled by the vector sum of all torque in the opposite direction.

A sound wave is a type of longitudinal wave that propagates through a medium through compression and rarefaction. These are the frequency, the wavelengths, the amplitudes, and the speeds. Frequency defines the tone or pitch, amplitude is associated with loudness, and the speed of sound depends on the type of medium through which it is transmitted.
